A Seres 3 EV was seen emitting white smoke causing a state of panic.
On October 21, 2024, a Seres 3 electric vehicle (EV) with the license plate Ba Pra 01 – 029 Chha (च) 5950, distributed by MAW AutoCorp in Nepal, caught fire while parked in Seres Service Center at Sitapaila, Kathmandu.
The vehicle was initially brought from Pokhara to Kathmandu for maintenance and repairs.
According to initial reports from Setopati, this occurred due to wire short as white smoke was seen rising from beneath the vehicle, where the battery pack is located.
However, we contacted the company officials and they have stated that the incident was caused by a defect in some parts and is not necessarily related to the vehicle’s battery.
A fire truck was quickly dispatched to the scene, and the situation has since been brought under control, according to Sitapaila police.
At this stage, details are limited, but MAW AutoCorp will issue a press release with further clarification on the cause of this.
Meanwhile, experts are actively investigating the incident to determine the exact reason behind the malfunction.
Stay tuned for updates as more information becomes available.
