Henrey Volts HEV300: A New Entry to the EV Party in Nepal — But How Relevant Is It?

HEV300 has been launched in Nepal.

S Cube Enterprises, the authorized distributor of Henrey VOLTS electric vehicles in Nepal, has launched its second vehicle for the Nepali EV market, the HEV300.

Currently, they offer VOLTS Model H which is one of the most affordable EV in the Nepali market.

HENREY VOLTS HEV300 Overview

Design

The HEV300 embodies the persona of a compact city car.

At the front, the car features a minimalistic design, typical of many EVs.

The sculpted C-shaped LED headlights flank a centrally positioned Volts logo, which also serves as the car’s charging port. Below, the air intakes and fog lights enhance the car’s clean and modern appearance.

Along the sides, character lines run throughout the profile, complemented by black window frames and a contrasting black roof. The 15-inch Multi-spoke Wheels add a touch of style to the HEV300, giving it a confident stance on the road.

At the rear, the dual-tone theme continues, enhancing the car’s dynamic and contemporary look.

On the inside, HEV300 features a decent cockpit with clean and functional look. The dashboard features a centrally placed 12.8-inch Infotainment system. 

The leatherette seats are adjustable for both driver and passenger. Furthermore, the three spoke steering wheel is also adjustable and comes with physical controls.

Performance

Henrey Volts HEV300 is powered by a 35 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(PMSM). It generates a max power of 48 PS and a max torque of 125 Nm.

It is supported by a 32.56 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery with a 335 Km CLTC claimed range. Moreover, the charging time from 0 to 100% is around 9 hours and 30 minutes with a 3.3 kW AC Charger.

Under fast charging condition, it can charge from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes.

Moreover, the HEV300 can reach a top speed of 100 Km/h.

Additional Details

Front McPherson and Towed Arm Suspension setup handle the suspension duties.

The overall dimensions are 3750 mm long, 1655 mm wide, and 1550 mm tall. Moreover, the wheelbase sits at 2415 mm.

The ground clearance is 175 mm. And, the kerb weight is 1080 Kg.

It includes a 230-liter boot space which is expandable to 540 liters.

Talking about competition, the Henrey Volts HEV300 will compete directly with the Tata Tiago EV.

When it comes to performance, the Tiago EV has an edge with its 49 kW motor, outpacing the 35 kW motor of the HEV300. However, the HEV300 features a larger 32.56 kWh battery pack, compared to the 24 kWh battery in the Tiago EV. Additionally, the HEV300 uses Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery chemistry, which is considered a safer option for electric vehicles.

The larger battery and modest motor of the HEV300 result in a greater driving range of 335 km, compared to the 315 km offered by the Tiago EV.

Moreover, the HEV300’s range is measured under the CLTC cycle, which provides a more accurate estimate compared to the MIDC cycle used for the Tiago EV.

That said, the Tiago EV benefits from Tata’s strong reputation and the well-established EV infrastructure built by Sipradi in Nepal, making it an appealing choice for enthusiastic buyers. Meanwhile, Henrey Volts, although a relatively new brand, presents the HEV300 as a solid option for comfortable city commutes and travel.

In terms of pricing, both the HEV300 and Tiago EV fall within a similar range. However, the HEV300 is slightly more affordable than the top variant of the Tiago EV.
