According to Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA), more than 1.6 million people have subscribed to the 4G mobile network service. According to the Management Information System (MIS) report of NTA of mid-April to mid-May, there are 1,645,969 subscribers of the 4G network.
The service was launched first in Nepal by Nepal Telecom (NT) back in 1st January. However, due to the ongoing probe of CIAA into NT, they haven’t been able to expand their services. The 4G service by NT is only available in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
On the other hand, Ncell has been rapidly expanding their 4G service and has over one million subscribers at the moment. Also according to the report by the NTA, NT has around 574,752 subscribers and Smart Telecom (ST) has around 33,054 subscribers.
