GO Automobiles, the official distributors of Ford vehicles in Nepal, has just brought the 2019 Ford Freestyle in Nepal. This brings all the well-loved features from the 2018 model year along with few more new improvements. Going by the looks, it might look like an updated version of the Ford Figo. But the looks are the only thing common between the two because the rest of it are miles apart.
Ford Freestyle was Nepal’s first Compact Utility Vehicle (CUV) in Nepal. It features an SUV-like robust design, a powerful engine, and an attractive Ford design. Currently, 2019 Ford Freestyle is available in three different variants; Trend, Titanium, and Titanium Plus. While the previous iteration came with a Diesel Engine, as of right now, this one will be available only in Petrol variant. Although, Ford’s official website also includes the options for the Diesel variant. As for the pricing, the 2019 Ford Freestyle price in Nepal starts at Rs. 30,49,000.
2019 Ford Freestyle is available in SIX Different colors: White Gold Metallic, Smoke Grey, Oxford White, Moondust Silver, Canyon-ridge and Absolute Black.
2019 Ford Freestyle Performance
Ford Freestyle is powered by a 1.2-liter Petrol Engine. This can generate a max power of 70.79kW at 6500rpm and max torque of 120Nm at 4250rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. As far as performance goes, its punchy and powerful that shines through and thorough especially in low-range and mid-range.
Unfortunately, you don’t get to see the new 1.5-liter Ti-VCT Petrol Engine. This could’ve drastically improved the overall power and torque of your new Freestyle. Other benefits would’ve included a quieter and more economical engine than its predecessors.
2019 Ford Freestyle Overview
On the exterior, you’ll be constantly reminded of the Ford Figo. You get old-school with a new-school taste. Things like a new grille mesh, black headlamp bezel, bold grey exterior mirror, and black front fog-lamp are the same yet different than its predecessor. Plus, you can’t miss the exterior “ruggedness” appeal. The bold and sporty exterior of the vehicle complements its premium interiors.
Moreover, the roof rails aren’t just for show. You can put up to 50kg of the load which makes it more practical. On the other hands, you also get 190mm of ground clearance that could even rival a modern SUV!
2019 Ford Freestyle Features & Safety
On the interior, you get new 6.5Inch touchscreen infotainment system. Compared to the 2018 Ford Freestyle, there isn’t much of a change, except a few top ups. There isn’t much to talk about as it seems like Ford didn’t pay quite the level of attention to the interiors as they did with the exteriors. Although, it is quite an improvement over the Ford Aspire and Ford Figo.
Let’s not forget the safety and security measures. You get six Airbags with 3-point seat belts, Seat Belt Reminder- for both driver and passenger, Door Ajar Warning, Reverse Parking Sensor, Perimeter Anti-Theft Alarm and Rear-View Camera. Moreover, the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) comes as standard in all the Freestyle variants. While few other features like auto-wipers, auto-headlamps, Android and Apple Play, stylized interiors have been reserved for more expensive variants.

Don’t even get me started with the problems on the Ford Figo. There were so many issues with the Figo, that one wouldn’t simply ignore them and enjoy the experience. But the issues were eventually solved for the Ford Freestyle… well most of them at least.
Furthermore, Ford Freestyle nailed most of the things that improve the overall experience like the peppier engine, awesome performance, larger ground-clearance, and so much more. Obviously, there are going to be minor issues like poor interior quality and flushed out features for the variants.
But these shouldn’t necessarily affect you or your fun with this car. So, yes, you should buy Ford Freestyle over the most CUV in the market right now.
